Dan Morgan was born in Cheltenham in the latter part of an unfashionable decade. Abba were high in the charts and one of the hottest British summers of all time had just come to an end. Even from this early stage, it was clear young Morgan would never be cool.

As a child, Dan was fascinated with recording equipment and destroyed countless bits of gear by taking it apart without the necessary skills for reassembly. He bought his first record in 1984, it was Queen's Radio Gaga. And, despite catching the tale end of Queen's feeble 'new sound', the love affair with vinyl endures. Records really do sound better, but they take up a lot of space.

During his teenage years, a weeks work experience at Severn Sound in Gloucester (now part of the omnipresent Heart network) firmly cemented Dan's ambition to work in radio. He spent most of his time at Severn Sound tape reclaiming and was never happier.

After graduating in 2000 with Clock Watching & Binge Drinking (BA Combined Honours) Dan began to pursue a career in the administative sector, becoming highly adept at dialing '9' for an outside line, toner cartridge repatriation and work/internet conflict resolution. Then, in 2007, radio began to call to him once again. Like whales call to one another, only across an ocean of sound.

Hospital radio is where a great many broadcasters have cut their teeth and so far Dan has seen the inside of two such establishments. A fairly brief tenure at Radio Wexham gave way to his current residency at Radio Hillingdon, which broadcasts from deep within the concrete at Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge. In 2008, he was given his own show, the late one, from 10pm-12am, Thursday nights. It's currently considered the best late show in that particular slot on a Thursday evening.

2009 saw Dan interview Judy Dyble (of Fairport Convention fame) on the release of her first studio album in two decades. He also had a tantalising sniff from BBC Radio 1, who subsequently told him to get stuffed.

Currently you can hear Dan on Radio Hillingdon in his usual Thursday evening entertainathon and also on the alternative music based Colliderscope Radio Show, which can be heard on Space Invader Radio every second Saturday of the month.
